BI & Datawarehouse Architect
You will be the key person in the client’s Business Intelligence design and technical governance team. You will therefore be highly experienced in leading DW Architecture projects/programs for clients, directing client and 3rd party teams, as well as providing coaching and architecture solution covering ETL, Database, Industry Standards, OLAP. You will also be mentoring and coaching other team members in the design and architecture team. You will get involved in shaping, solutioning of key projects and programs and also giving technical guidance during the life-cycle of project
Full Description of Role:
You will have a dual responsibility for working in the client’s technical governance and strategy and architecture team as well as defining and developing capabilities of the BI service line within the E-Enabling DWH practice. The industry coverage will be across verticals (Banking, Securities, Insurance), with the immediate work focused in UK in Banking domain. You must be experienced at engaging with customers at CxO and departmental head level and be comfortable in communicating with technical and business leaders, program managers and able to provide robust challenge when required.
Applicants must have multiple year relevant experience, with a significant proportion leading, shaping and managing BI client engagements (see skill-sets for details of applicable experience areas). You should also possess in-depth and hands on experience in DWH design and data modeling techniques
Skill Set Required:
Delivering Business Intelligence and DWH projects for clients - Proven experience in systems life cycle methodology, metadata management; and data quality management, data cleansin with particular focus on DWH design and data modelling
In depth understanding of various tools, methods and approaches for defining, designing and executing BI engagements - enterprise information/application integration (EAI/EII) technologies; and/or end-user business intelligence tools (e.g., DataStage, Cognos, Business Objects, Microstrategy, SAS, SPSS, or other tools).
In depth understanding of platforms and solutions within the BI arena –
Experience and/or specific knowledge with a range of database technologies in particular Teradata and Ascential DataStage.
Expert in data modelling techniques, including design principles for conceptual, logical (normalized), and dimensional (star/snowflake) design, and should have familiarity with physical design considerations.
Should have good understanding of Teradata industry data models FSLDM and should have implemented DW Solutions involving FSLDM data models for at least 1 to 2 client implementations
Expertise in Data Integration around DW Solutions using various ETL tools like Datastage Parallel Edition, Database Teradata and Teradata utilities, to ensure efficient Data movement architectures
Strong experience in leading a team of designers for technical solutioning
Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
Able to work effectively in a rapidly changing team-based and multi-cultural environment . Experience in working in onsite-offshore model will be a advantage
