The Opportunity – Client Partner – Retail

This is clearly a vital appointment and the new Client Partner will enjoy full P&L accountability for the company’s UK & Ireland Retail business. This will include management responsibility for existing Retail clients as well as looking to cultivate new business development opportunities with both existing and future customers.

In terms of profile, need to appoint an experienced Consultant with extensive domain knowledge in the Retail market together with a track record of project delivery complemented by demonstrated new business development expertise. He/she will need to possess evident leadership skills and gravitas and should be able to interact credibly with both IT and Business leaders within the sector. Specifically, he/she should be able to debate high-level technical detail whilst effectively promulgating and delivering winning IT propositions to solve specific client problems. In short, the new Client Partner should have a track record in effective project delivery coupled with demonstrated business development aptitude and commercial acumen underpinned by keen analytical acuity.

Key Responsibilities

• Assume full responsibility for the Retail vertical in the UK & Ireland.
• Manage and develop both existing and new accounts by evangelising business opportunities, working in consort with global team.
• Undertake responsibility for the delivery of projects, working in tandem with on-site and offshore teams.
• Act as a business strategist and champion solutions that will bring business benefits to customers in terms of additional revenue opportunities or reduction in costs.
• Lead and manage the UK & Ireland Retail team.

Experience and Qualifications

• Degree qualified, ideally with additional professional qualification, such as an MBA.
• Significant experience in a relevant sector with a background in IT or related consulting activities.
• Specialist expertise in client management with cross-disciplinary experience in business strategy, project and product management and key account management within the Retail vertical.
• Experience of strategic account planning with practical knowledge of developing complex account plans.
• Extensive management experience with the gravitas to act as an effective negotiator at the most senior levels.
• A self-starter imbued with a sense of urgency and a ‘can-do’ attitude and the ability to work autonomously.
• Strong relationship-building skills, with proven ability influencing at both peer and senior management levels.
• Creative and entrepreneurial in approach but focused on effective delivery and P&L management.
